Every now and again we meet to bring each other up to date on the latest events, both on professional and private subjects. In combination with a delicious breakfast this is bound to be a good start into a relaxed Sunday.
Mostly that is. In Düsseldorf there are countless cafes, which offer delicious breakfast in a pleasant atmosphere. Mostly, anyway. And yes, it is correct to say that we are spoiled.
Cafe Leopold offers this very lovely combination when everything is so very nearly perfect: the quality of the food, the friendliness of the service, and a very nice and appealing decor. Coming inside you believe to be back in the Vienna of old days, a hundred or more years ago and transferred to the K and K world. The breakfast ingredients are modern and fresh, with super delicious rolls and bread, and fresh and delicious cold cuts, cheese, scrambled eggs, muesli, yogurt – I forgot something? And a very personal and friendly reception, taking care of us considerately and kindly. Yes, thanks for asking us, we were very happy!
Unfortunately, I did not think to photograph the breakfast. Which might be a good idea though, my amateurish efforts with the smartphone can not really do justice to it. Which is why today I make use of the professional pictures from https://www.pexels.com.
By the way, breakfast is only one half of what Café Leopold has on offer. There are cakes. Or rather CAKES in capital letters. All are self-baked, and if you’ve ever noticed that there is a difference between thawing a cake or baking it from scratch, then you should visit as well!
Breakfast: Very tasty and varied. The menu is small but still has a good variety to choose from.
Service: Very friendly and obliging.
Price performance ratio: reasonable.
Would we go there again: Yes, absolutely.
