Life is not only about cycling. Sometimes you just have to face other challenges. Let’s talk about a good meal for example. From an experimental kitchen. Or as the website states it is a “world kitchen with a twist”. Well then.
The idea behind the menu is to try out as many different tastes as you like. There is no classic starters – main course – dessert – sequence. We had roast beef, pork, fish, salad, seafood, vegetables, and something sweet.
This is no foodblog and will definitely never be one. The pictures therefore are handmade and rather rustic. Just believe me it was delicious!
We started with a greeting from the kitchen, consisting of a bowl with salad, sprouts, and I do not know what else to find inside. Quite a highlight! Bread and butter as well, fresh and delicious.
My Calamaretti modestly hid behind a dressing of old tomato varieties, as well as Feta from Lesbos. However the amount of seafood within was overwhelming and the name of the dish truthfully chosen.
And then. Then there was the pig. The pork belly. But not from an ordinary pig. A Duroc! Without knowing more details, this sounds noble, does it not? In fact is is not. A day or two later I learned that this breed comes from the USA. There is actually less nobility, more …. whatever. So maybe not everything is questionable coming to us over the Atlantic. Whatever, the pork belly had been boiling for 36 hours. It was served accompanied by forest mushrooms and on a bed of mashed potatoes. With a sauce. And if we were at Snapchat now I would probably mount little colourful hearts around it.
P. enjoyed a roast beef, and H. a mullet.
It looked very good. So did the Roastbeef.
One dessert came to the table, two of us had already declined any sweet. This also answers the question of the amount of food served: Completely normal.
Considering the price the evening was also absolutely within limits. With one or maybe or two glasses of wine, a bottle of water shared, we were in the usual area. Or to quote P.: We have been known to pay more money for worse food. And since then they changed the menu, so there are new delicacies to discover.
The food: Delicious.
Service: So friendly.
Price performance ratio: Very good. This dinner costs money and is worth it.
Would we go there again: Definitely.
